The topic for today (28/09/17) is: Ways to Improve My Reading Life

It is a universally acknowledged fact that there is no such thing as too many books. As bookworms, we struggle with trying to scale that TBR mountain, find enough bookshelf space and make more time to read. Here are three ways that I’ve come up with to improve my reading life.

The topic for today (10/08/17) is: Favourite Book Bloggers

Now that I’ve dived headlong into this community, my most recent follows have been book blogs rather than writing/author blogs. There are some who stand out in mind either because of how successful, helpful or unique they are. If you’re a book blogger happening to read this and don’t see your name up here, don’t hurl brickbats at me. I must really love a blog to follow it and if I follow you, you are all shades of amazing. The ones on this list are basically how I want this blog to be in five years’ time and they are an inspiration to me. Without further ado, let’s just get to the list.

Top Three Thursdays #20 – Most Read Authors

The topic for today (03/08/17) is: Authors Whose Books I’ve Read the Most

I got the idea for this from a post over on Thrice Read – Top Ten Monday | Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From. Naturally, I worried myself sick as to how I would compile the list until I found a nifty feature called ‘Most Read Authors’ over on Goodreads. It is on the sidebar to the left once you click on the ‘My Books’ tab after signing in. After I discovered this on my own, I realised that the post by Caitlynn on Thrice Read does have the instructions on where to find it and I felt really stupid. Let’s gloss over that bit and get into the post now, yeah?

Top Three Thursdays #19 – Tropes I’m Tired Of

The topic for today (20/07/17) is: Tropes I’m Tired Of

I mostly read young adult fiction and am comfortable with middle grade as well as children’s books, occasionally venturing into new adult or adult books. YA is infamously known for its clichés and I’ve read enough to grow tired of a few of them to the point where I’ve stopped picking up books that seem to give such vibes from their description. Here are the top three tropes I don’t want to see more of.

Top Three Thursdays #18 – Favourite Books with a PoC MC

The topic for today (13/07/17) is: Favourite Books I’ve Read That Feature a PoC MC

I feel like I don’t talk about diversity enough on my blog. Being a Person of Colour myself, I’m always looking for good representation of people like me and just non-white persons in general. This is a collection of amazing books that I’ve read this year featuring a PoC as the main character. Two of them are popular and have received a ton of hype, but one is more of a hidden gem. Without further ado, let me get to my list.

Top Three Thursdays #17 – Books I Wish I Grew Up With

The topic for today (29/06/17) is: Books I Wish I Grew Up With

With the recent celebration of 20 Years of Harry Potter, I began to think about books I wish I’d read as a child. I was introduced to the series pretty late (in 2007, around the time The Deathly Hallows book came out) and I feel like I’d have enjoyed it better if I’d started it when I was younger. Although I picked up The Chronicles of Narnia in fourth grade, Harry Potter in seventh grade and Percy Jackson in eighth grade, here are some other well-known children’s series I want to go back in time and read (Since that’s still not possible, I’m going to coerce my kids to read them while growing up, if I ever have any).

The topic for today (15/06/17) is: The Times I Got Caught Reading

Being an obsessive bookworm, chances are you’ve read books at times and in places you’re supposed to be doing something else. I know I have. ‘Get Caught Reading’ is also a reading initiative supported by the Association of American Publishers (AAP), with May being ‘Get Caught Reading Month’. I don’t live in the United States and neither is it May now, but I thought this would make a great post idea. Here are the “top three” (i.e. most memorable) times I got caught reading.
