Well, this is quite unexpected, to be completely honest. Since restarting this week, my views have shot up, people have been commenting on my new posts and I even got nominated for a blog award. So far, 2018 has been treating me and this precious gem of a blog very well. To add more cheer, I will be getting a lot more free time in the upcoming weeks because my travel time will be reduced to mere minutes as opposed to the five hours it is currently. If you’re a seasoned reader, you know how much this means to me. I have so many plans for this blog and I can’t wait to share my ideas with you all. Now let’d get to the award, shall we?
I was nominated by Jade from Pay Me in Tea for this award. Thanks a ton! 🙂 She has a beautifully designed book blog and is a fellow tea-lover who also happens to enjoy reading fantasy and young adult books. Do check her out and give her some love.
Let’s go over the rules quickly:
- Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
- Answer the questions.
- In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
- Ask them 3 questions.
Q1. If your favourite book was going to be adapted into a play/movie/TV show/game/etc, what format would you not want it to be adapted to?
A. I don’t think it’s news to anyone reading this, but my all-time favourite is The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. It’s already been adapted into a very famous movie trilogy and Amazon is working on a TV series set in Middle-Earth. There are online games based on the books as well. I’m not sure if it’s been adapted into a play, but I don’t think that it should be. The story itself is so vast and detailed that capturing the entirety of it in a play would make it hundreds of hours long.
Q2. What’s something you haven’t done, but really want to try doing someday?
A. I want to learn graphic design and put that skill to use. I have absolutely no time to do this now though. I’m scared I’ll never be as creative or design beautiful stuff like I see other people do on the Internet, so that’s holding me back from even considering this seriously. This might never end up happening, but maybe someday I’ll pick up the courage to try.
Q3. What do you want to see done in a book this year?
A. I’m on a huge Asian-inspired fantasy kick recently and can’t seem to get enough. I read quite a few good ones in 2017 and hope to continue the trend in 2018. If you have any recommendations for me, let me know in the comments section below. More generally, I want to see more #ownvoices novels that tackle relevant themes in the modern world.
I had so much fun answering Jade’s questions. Here are my nominees for the award:
Sheila from She’s Going Book Crazy
Tiffany from Tea Time With Tiffany
Anthony from Keep Reading Forward
Victoria from A Bookish Secret
Simant from Flipping Through the Pages
Congrats on receiving the award! You all deserve more recognition in the community and I hope you enjoy doing the tag as much as I did. 🙂 My questions for you are:
Q1. What is your reading routine like? Do you read at a particular time in a particular place or do you squeeze in a few pages whenever you can and carry your books everywhere with you?
Q2. Which book has been on your TBR the longest? Do you still plan to read it or is it time to bid adieu?
Q3. What is your most cherished bookish moment of 2017?
If you’re not on the nominee list, but still want to try this on your own blog, consider yourself tagged. You could also answer mine or Jade’s questions in the comments section. What is the highest honour/award you’ve received in your life? Let me know down below.
Congrats Nandini and welcome back! I always enjoy reading your posts so I’m glad you’ll have more time on here now!

Thank you so much! 🙂 Hey if you have not received this award, do it over on your blog as well! I was trying to include some of the newer blogs I’m following and so couldn’t manage to tag all my favourites. 🙁
I’m so glad I’m back. I have a huge backlog of commenting to get to. I’ll be paying a visit to your blog very soon. Hope you’re doing great! Also, happy new year! 🙂

I had a writing blog before I started my book blog. Check it out at –

I don’t have the time to post there anymore though. So my writing has taken a hiatus. Let me know what you think. 🙂

You stopped writing there, and just decided to quit. That’s sad.

I’m sorry but I don’t have the time to anymore because of my hectic schedule. So I had to quit. Nice of you to check it out.

Thank you for the nomination 🙂 I have already done this tag but I hope I can do it again 🙂 I enjoyed your answers. And welcome back. I do hope that you get to learn graphic designs soon. I want to learn it too someday 😀

Your blog looks so good! I assumed you were a wizard at graphic design. 😅 I really wanted to tag people who’ve not done this before, but I didn’t get a good enough response on the new bloggers group, so I just tagged a few people whose blogs I recently discovered and liked. Let me know if you’re going to do it again. 🙂

Sure no issues with the tagging 😊 And thank you for all the praise. It did took a lot of time to make all these stuff 😊 Let me know in case you need any help ❤️

I might have to stop by and meet this friend of yours. Knowing she also loves books and tea is a true plus. 🙂
Congrats on winning the Unique Blogger Award, btw! And I agree, I don’t think a play would be a good medium for LOTR. It’s too sprawling a story to be told effectively in that way.
Also, I know you didn’t talk about this in your post, but I saw in your Twitter feed that you read A Darker Shade of Magic – and loved it!! 😀 Are you planning to review it here as well?

Thank you Nandini for nominating me. ❤ I've never been nominated for an award so this is extra special. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I also would love to learn graphic design. I do try to make my headers on Photoshop, but they have nothing on those headers/templates created by design wizards. People have skills! I wish I could join them…
Happy readings! 😉

You’re welcome! 🙂 This was my first time being nominated for anything on this blog, so I totally know how you feel. You totally deserve it though! Congrats! 🙂
I made mine in Canva, but I didn’t “make” anything much. Just putting some font on a background. People have such beautiful watercolour images and they look amazing! I want that too. 😭
