Top Three Thursdays #15 – Mystery Series TBR

Hello and welcome! This is my weekly series, Top Three Thursdays, or, for convenience, TTT. Every week I discuss my top three in any bookish topic. If you’d like to participate, write up a post on your blog and leave a link to it in the comments below.

The topic for today (08/06/17) is: Mystery Series I Want to Complete

These are very popular series that I’ve read a few books from but I want to re-read from starting to finish so I don’t miss out on anything. I had hoped to make June a ‘Mystery Reading Month’, but my plans went a little haywire because my reading mood didn’t cooperate. I still hope to finish these series in 2017, which is super-ambitious, but I’ll try anyway.

1. The Hercule Poirot series by Agatha Chrisite

I’d mentioned previously that I wanted to read Murder on the Orient Express before the movie comes out. The truth is, I want to all of the books featuring this iconic detective. I’ve read a few books when I was in high school but I honestly can’t remember the titles very correctly or even recall the plot. So, I’m planning to give this entire series a re-read soon.

2. The Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene

A favourite of mine when I was in middle grade, I didn’t keep track of all the titles I read. Many of them sound familiar, but I’m unsure of whether I’ve read them or just stared at the cover hoping to borrow them from the school library. A friend of mine recently started re-reading the series as well, so I thought it would be best to join her for a read-along.

3. The Famous Five series by Enid Blyton

Instead of hopping on this popular train, I picked up the Five Find-Outers and Dog series by the same author. I got the first three book in this series when I was in my teens. I enjoyed them, but never continued on. This beloved children’s series is something I have to complete before I call myself an accomplished mystery reader.

Do you enjoy the mystery genre? Have you finished these series? Have you enjoyed other mystery series? Let me know in the comments section below.
